2D TO 3D

In our economic markets, you regularly hear from certain quarters, especially governments and financial organisations, that “growth” takes priority over everything else, and “recessions” should be avoided at all costs.

True economists, and ecologists, will however tell you something different, which is obvious once you understand the mechanics.

When you see the charts on the previous page in their two-dimensional format, it would appear that they are going up-and-down. But in fact, in their three-dimensional format, they are spiralling waveforms going round-and-round. In the case of the fractal chart, this would appear like a kind of planetary model, with the smaller waveforms orbiting the larger waveforms. Taking two waveforms in isolation, you can see the spiralling effect here viewed from different angles.

When you ask why it is spiralling, it is because what we are looking at here is a natural motion, one which “phases” through a circular Work-Rest pattern over time, as indicated in the below diagram.

In terms of our physical nature, this kind of patterning represents a benchmark of good practice for maintaining health. We are not however the only ones who move through such cycles, in short, the Earth and all other natural entities in the physical universe observe such cycles.

It is important to start understanding that the first paragraph above is a wholly incorrect way of viewing life and how to keep it healthy. The recessions are as important as the growth, just as winter is as important to summer, for continued health.
